Webcast Viewing Tips

Are you using a dial-up internet connection?

Many webcast productions these days are designed for higher-speed connections.

  • Improve your viewing by closing all unnecessary programs when playing a Webcast.
  • Your system may need upgrading to enjoy best possible viewing.

Are you a Macintosh dial-up user?

For optimum viewing, increase the memory allocation for your web browser and media player.

Is your RealPlayer window doing a lot of buffering?

If RealPlayer keeps stopping the broadcast and reloading the webcast file (buffering), very high traffic through your Internet Service Provider could be causing the problem.

  • Try connecting to the webcast stream during off peak times.
  • Or - use RealPlayer's "PerfectPlay" feature to temporarily download and cache the webcast file and play it back. Once the program is viewed the cache will clear automatically.

Experiencing high-resource usage?

Lower the system-usage setting within Preferences.
